As part of Istanbul Kültür University’s (IKU) 2025-2026 Academic Year General Orientation Programs, a “Digital Education Orientation Program” was organized to help newly enrolled students adapt to digital platforms. The program, where the digital systems that students will frequently use throughout their academic journey were introduced and hands-on training was provided, was held online via Microsoft Teams on Monday, September 8, 2025, between 14.00 and 16.00.

The opening speech of the event was delivered by our Dean of Students, Assoc. Prof. Gamze Alptekin. Highlighting the importance of digital systems in the adaptation process to university life, Assoc. Prof. Gamze Alptekin emphasized that actively using these tools would greatly contribute to students’ academic success.

Our Head of the Institutional Information Management Department, Assist. Prof. Levent Çuhacı, provided a comprehensive training on “SAP ORION Student Applications” which students will frequently use in course registrations, exam procedures, and academic progress.

Taking the floor on behalf of the Department of Information Systems and Technologies, Software Project Manager Dr. Fettah Kurtuluş shared detailed information about our university’s digital infrastructure. He introduced students both to the technical support services provided by the Department and to the PUMA application, which plays an important role in course processes.

In the final part of the program, Assist. Prof. Neslihan Fatma Er, Director of the Distance Education Applications and Research Centre (UZEMER), delivered a hands-on training session on “CATS”, the platform used by students to follow online courses, upload assignments, and access academic content.

The Digital Education Orientation, which lasted for approximately two hours, enabled students to make a strong digital start to their university life. Through the program, they also had the opportunity to become closely acquainted with the digital resources offered by IKU.

Our Head of the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema, Assoc. Prof. Perihan Taş Öz, has been awarded support for her feature-length fiction film script project titled “Ahir Zaman İçinde” by the General Directorate of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye.

A total of 78 candidates applied for the project support, and our professor’s project is one of the 7 selected projects.

Atahan Yaman, one of our Department of Radio, Television and Cinema students, has become a finalist in the 32nd International Adana Golden Boll Film Festival with his short film Mars, which he wrote and directed. The film will compete in the National Student Film Competition – Experimental Category of the festival, which will be held in Adana from September 22–28. Ahmetcan Taşal and Rojda Üzüm, our students from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, also star in the film.

Istanbul Kültür University 2025-2026 Academic Year General Orientation Program will be held on Monday, September 15th at 1:00 PM at the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center. The program will provide information about our university, which will be our students' new home throughout their higher education. As part of the General Orientation Program, workshops and club introductions will be held from September 15th to 18th at the Ataköy building on the Bakırköy campus.

The Student Dean's Office Kültür Point will organize an "Orientation Program for Student Clubs" for new students enrolled at our university. The event, which will feature an Orchestra IKU concert, DJ performances, and dance shows, as well as booths providing information about student clubs, will be held in the backyard of the Ataköy building, Bakırköy Campus, between September 16-18.

The "E-Commerce and E-Export" conference will be held in cooperation with the IKU Technology Transfer Office (TTO) and Entegra Digital Services and Software Inc.. The event, which will be held as part of the university-industry collaboration with the participation of leading companies and high-level executives in the field of e-commerce, will take place on Thursday, September 18th, from 09:30 to 17:00 at the Akıngüç Auditorium and Art Center.

Within the scope of Istanbul Kültür University (IKU) 2025-2026 Academic Year General Orientation Program, the "Students with Special Needs Orientation Program" will be held on Thursday, September 18th, between 14:00–15:30 in the 4th floor multi-purpose hall in the Ataköy building of the Bakırköy campus.
